Algorithm Simulation and Troubleshooting Tool

Project Overview

Engineers in our organization had problems troubleshooting and improving algorithms that our organization provided for their customers due to a myriad of different internal processes and tools. I was brought onboard to help design efforts in constructing a desktop app to address these issues, but there were other problems - there was a lack of product/project management resources, and the team had problems developing their vision because of it. My challenge was to identify problem points and develop the product direction, and harness an experience previously spread out among different processes into one interface.

Contributions

  • Educate team about user experience and user-centered design benefits

  • Led workshops to understand and set scope of project with stakeholders

  • Generated personas from user interviews

  • Identified user needs and use cases, extrapolated user requirements for team consumption

  • Created UX design brief containing project goals and product strategy

  • Incrementally delivered feature specific workflows and wireframes throughout the development cycle

  • Coordinated the first time implementation of product style guide
